Thank you very much for your interest and nice comments, PrzemoL. I'm glad they're with your fret, confirms that they are right to use.
I've seen somewhere in writing that the underside of the horizontal stabilizer was blue also. No pictures, though. I've painted mine blue.
Thanks,
Kofoed

Finished!
Guess what, it’s finally finished!
The propeller in the kit was beyond salvation, but luckily I have both the Roden Pfalz, Albatros and Fokker DVI in the waiting line, and there are lots of spare ones in these.
The ailerons presented no major problems, though I had feared them a little from writings in the earlier thread.
On the next I hope the slight transparancy of the blue top wing is visible. The underlying lozenge should be visible, it is in fact to the eye.
It has actually been quite rewarding building this. So far, it’s the only DVII in this scale to my knowledge, and provided you prepare yourself for using both some “heavy” tools and the usual fine work, it’s not that bad.
Feel free to comment and ask if I have forgotten to tell about a thing or two….

Now for some fun. I like photographing my models in their “natural” environment. And I was blessed with a very nice and warm light from the setting sun.
Finally, I made this sepia toned B&W. To further enhance the old look, I have tried to replicate the orthochromatic films of the period. These were not sensitive to red and yellow, so I have made the reds darker and the blues lighter. Enjoy.
Now, where did I put the address to the sanatorium? I think I’ll recover bringing along a nice, easy kit I can build out-of-the-box.
Thanks for your attention,
Kofoed

That would be the 1/48 Roden Junkers D.I.

Congratulations on completing a real DOG of a kit! Well done all around. I like the streaking and the show through markings under the Blue!!

Terrific! It looks great, I wish mine would bo so. Congratulations, Kofoed. I lokie transparent blue and streaky effect very much. Could you tell what colour you used as the background for the streaky region?

Thank you!
Thank you very much, guys, Your comments are much appreciated.
von Goebel, thanks a lot.
Stephen, that's a very good suggestion. I have it in the stash, and there are some very good references on the build here.
Sagittarius, thanks a lot.
RAGIII, thanks a lot. A real DOG of a kit for sure.
PrzemoL, thanks a lot. I'm sure yours will be even finer. As a background for the streaking I paint with a clear doped linen colour mixed appr. 1/1 with light grey, as I take it that undoped linen isn't as yellow as the doped. Then I paint the olive with a flat, well-used brush in vertical strokes once, let it dry, and then once more. That's it.
Thanks,
Kofoed

Cry HAVOC! and let slip the dogs of modeling!!! Against said French creation, fortify yourselves and entreat with mercy as it sucumbs to thine prowess. Yet let it not lay dormant on thine shelf in mocking entreats, yet pull it down and remove it from its security and apply thine work! Now it is time to arm, to carve, hack and empale it on thine Xacto pike, naked and without its guarded safety disarm said battle axe. Nay, drop not thine heart into the sink of fear, From Calais to Burgundy to Orleans send the word that its has not bested thee. Years from now modelers on other websites will think themselves accursed that they not partook of our victories here. Therefore good friends strip your sleeves bare your scars and say '...these I earned on St. Fokker's kit.' Be not compelled to cruelty to its creator, but rejoice at the challenge as then the victory will be all the sweeter. Let thine 'ingenuity' glow like a burning torch light of the watch into the darkness. So the cloak of darkness not smother its guiding light. Old men forget but we not forget we few we happy few, for he that survives this build has shared in it victory. Dispose the empty sprue.
