Hi there Kofoed. Must tell you that I enjoyed very much the transparent blue on the wings and streaky effect. Terrific model. Congratulations. Cheers.

Wow, Stephen, you're a great poet as well! Reminds me of my happy youth when a kit was made in a week-end and there was time to also read my Shakespeare.
Thank you very much for your beautiful poetry. I have enjoyed reading it several times, and I really enjoy my victory over "said French creation". The empty sprues will be discarded, but I'll keep the box as a victory trophy.

Thank you
Kofoed

My Gallery
Berthold's first, and the one taken over by Marconnay.

Kofed:
The first Fok.D.VII that Hptm. Rudolf Berthold had was was a Fokker built D.VII from the first production order, D. 227/18 t0 D.526.18. The serial number has to be in the range prior to D.374/18. The machine that Ltn. Oliver Frhr. von Beaulieu-Marconnay had that was Berthold's was from at least serial number range of Fokker built D.VII 4250/18 to D.4299/18.
We know Hptm. Berthold, had at least three, the early Fokker built, The Fokker built that Ltn.Beaulieu-Marconnay got and the one he was shot down in. I would imagine that he had probably twice that number in 1918.
I can say, that I would expect Berthold to be flying a BMWIIIa powered D.VII, however, there is nothing in the photo that makes the statement that it it had a BMWIIIa, it could of had a Mercedes D.IIIaü 180 Ps with the dual cylinder air pump. There is no difference in the machine gun mounts on a Fokker D.VII with either a Mercedes D.IIIaü or a BMWIIIa engines. That is a lot of baloney. The machine gun mountings are exacty the same, for either engine. The forward machine gun mounting is fixed in the vertical height.
For you information, I have identified nine variations in the airframe, cowlings and engines for Fokker built D.VII, seven in Albatros Built D.VIIs and ten in OAW built D.VII. To this you would have to add a large numer of variations in the covering and finish by the three manufacturers of the D.VII.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Spectacular kit!!!!! And precious aircraft.

I liked the whole model, but above all the transparent blue on the wings and streaky effect which produces on the lozenge and another thing to standing out is the propeller.

Congratulations

Cheers

Thank you very much, Dan San and Miguel.

Dan San, that's a lot of nice information, thanks a lot. Very interesting. And nine Fokker built, seven Albatros built and ten OAW built make 26 in all! Impressive! I'm not aware of all of them, I shall have to re-count.
Interesting that there shouldn't be any height difference of the machine guns mountings on Mercedes and BMW powered DVII's. That's new to me. Do you mean, that there wasn't any difference between the DIII aü and the BMW, or do you mean that there wasn't any difference between all Mercedes' and the BMW? Based on what I have seen and read so far, I've always thought that there was a difference due to the higher BMW-engine on all builds, Fokker, Albatros and OAW.

Miguel, Thank you very much for your nice words on my model. Much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kofoed
