However, our whole area took a hit with a significant snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, so the turnout was lower than usual. As a consequence, there were fewer models in the mix.
So the "official" result was a First, but I don't feel that I should claim a clear win. Bit of a letdown after the work involved, but you can't fight Mother Nature in the Great White North! We plan on having a Regional competition next year, so I expect that that will be the acid test.

Hi Gary,
Did you plan the "Snow Storm"?
Were you the one responsible for it?
A "Clean KILL" is a clean kill!
Better Luck next time!

My opinion.... It looks like it was well deserved.
I am glad that you "fessed up"!
I think that over time , you will feel better about it!

Gary:
Thanks so much for sharing your amazingly original and effective solution to the "Fokker Triangle" problem. Obviously, the paper, in addition to having perfect woodgrain, is more to scale than my .020 styrene, and even better, you don't have to crease it, then wrestle with it to get it to conform to the inside of the fuselage.
I'm hanging on to this thread, because I have lots of Roden and Eduard Fokkers in the closet that need attention. I've still got the review sample of the Eduard Royal Class Fokker D.VII unopened in that dusty vault, as well as a single Eduard D.VII and a double D.VII kit from them, as well as uncounted others. I need maybe two of these kits at the most.
I mean, I'm up to my butt in Fokkers, because that doesn't include the E.V/D.VIIIs and the 1/32 F.1 conversion from the late Meteor Prod. as well as the D.I cowling correction. Even the unfortunate D.VI (the plane was unfortunate, the kit is fine) is in there with the unfinished Dr.I somewhere. Oh, and I can't forget that Eduard is working on a new 1/48 Dr.I.
Man, Roden and Eduard stretched those Fokker molds until they were screaming for mercy, I'll bet.
Many thanks,
TOM

Hi, Tom,
Glad to hear that you think the "paper wood" will work for you.
I've got a DML DVII and Roden DVII, both to 1/48th. If it would help, and you've got a spare Eduard DVII that you'd like to part with, drop me a PM and we can discuss. But only if you aren't EVER going to build it! I halved my holdings a few years ago, and I still have close to 200 yet to build. That's my deal with God: He doesn't take me until I finish building my stash...and I keep adding to it!

Sound like a good deal!
I'll have to look into that one. Without counting, we're talking Methusala!
