Fokker E.III quick build

I haven't really been able to post any work for a while now, but I built this one just for me. I built this over the span of about 5 days or so. It's the Eduard 1/72 Fokker E.III profipack. It's an awesome little kit and I can't complain one bit about it. I hope their soon to be released 1/48 goes together as well. I did replace the upper V-strut with brass Strutz because I crushed the kit's plastic part. I didn't want to use the p.e. since it looked even more fragile.

Anyway, I kept the weathering really, really light, just some oil washes on the motor and streaking on the underside. We'll call it a really fresh airframe and be done with it.

Normally, 1/48 and lately 1/32 have been my scales, but I've been ocassionally getting into 1/72 for a change of pace. I did get to use a color I never thought I'd ever use on an a/c model....Chevy Engine Red. It matched up pretty well to the orange/red to touch up the corners of the fuselage decals. Cool.....

Here it is......

Chris

Cool!

The aluminum is very very well done. The effect is quite often overdone in 1/72, but yours, Chris, is just in scale!

All the compliments are highly appreciated, especially coming from this group.

The aluminum effect wasn't really a technique, I just sprayed the Alclad over a dull black surface and sprayed only a fairly light coat.
