RFC 1/32 decals needed

Hi, all I am in need of one RFC roundel decal for a Hobby Craft 1/32 Nieuport 17 if anyone has one laying around or perhaps can point me to a source.Darn, but those HC decals are brittle! Thanks all, Dave

They are very brittle. And if you can get them to go down in one piece, then you can expect to see them crack and lift a few months down the track unless you have given them a good coat of sealer.

Sorry, I don't have these decals handy. Me, I would mask and spray them.

Cheers,

Hugh

Hi!

It is very easy to make painting masks for round shapes yourself. Look at pisc below.

great pics !

Thanks, guys and the pics look great.I have the Nieuport just about finished and was done with the decals when tradgedy happened and one of the roundels lifted and broke. If I were to mask and spray I'd probably have to redo the entire plane and was hoping to make it simple and find one roundel decal. The technique of masking and spraying looks like something I'd like to try, though. Can I ask a newby question and ask what materials you used ? Thanks again, Dave

Beautiful Masking !! I assume it was some sort of what we call here frisket paper (clear adhesive sheet) BUt HOW in the world did you manage that without pulling up that great aluminum paint finsh you started with ?

DId you seal it with future first and did that really protect it form the Tape ?

Yours Mikey

Aluminum paint - it is Alclad II Alc-116 (semi matt aluminum), is very hardy. You need not to cover it with anything.

Would the decals from a Camel work? I have some left over from a Hobbycraft. I don't know if they are the correct diameter. I'll dig through my parts box and see what I have. I guess you can leave me a private message.
