Just got my Squadron August flyer, and the 1/48 Roden D.VII and Hi-tech Snipe are on the advance order page for 3rd quarter availability. Unfortunately, the H-T Albi is STILL there :'(

Greetings,

This is my very first post. I cannot tell you how happy I am to find a place where I can speak of WW I models I've read many posts and you people seem to be on top of your game.

It took me a while to find the Roden home page so I thought I'd list it here.

Yes, a good D VII would be fantastic. I try and stick with 1/48 and this will give me a good reason to try a Roden kit.

From a message on the WWI mailing list today...

Quote:
This weekend I visited E-Day - a big modelling show in the Czech republic. Almost all of the czech model producers were there, with some ot news. Eduard presented the pictures of the 3D model of their upcoming Fokker D.VII (together with Hetzer and Mirage III). On the Gavia stand I saw the test moulds and the boxart of the new Pfalz E.I in 1/48. Gavia is also working on the Nieuport X in the same scale. When speaking about the new Nieuport X, Omega was allready selling their resin kit of the same plane, together with the new Hansa-Brandenburg CC flying boat in the same scale. And naturally, there were also the models (and one table of the ot planes too). I will post the photos somewhere this week.

Here I sit today lamenting the late arrival of the Roden 1/48 Fokker D.VII. Sniff sniff.

Where oh, where has my little Fokker gone?
Where oh, where can it be?
With its early Schwerin Nose and its tail all striped!
Oh, where oh where can it be? :'( :'( :'(

Maybe Little Bo Peep can intervene here. Nothing like a low mileage pit woofie to help a man build a happy memory. :

I note that they now promise two SE5a kits for 2004. But like the man said; where's the DVII?

Karaya have the Roden D VII in their catalogue for $13.50. As of last week they were still waiting for the kits to arrive.
