PeterL: Hhhhmmm! *I challenge PeterL to build a model - any model and use only PVA...then give us a lesson! * *;D *

Nope, that's not really the point and no more practical than constructing a model using only plastic cement or only cyano. Many times when building a model we face the problem of joining two painted surfaces, polystyrene cement won't work in that situation, PVA does. Conventional cement will damage transparent plastic, as well as the increasingly fine detail parts we see for which even Mekpac is a bit strong, PVA's the thing. When rigging with fine wire cement won't do and cyano may damage the paintwork, PVA to the rescue. I haven't tried monofilament for forty years or so, but I bet it doesn't react to model cement the way polystyrene does. (Okay. so it won't stick with PVA either. Work with me here *

)There is usally more than one use for a modeling material and finding new ones is all part of the fun. Though not as much fun as discovering a modeling use for a seemingly inappropriate material bought for peanuts down at the hardware shop, or better still got for free out of SWMBO's sewing basket *;D
