Curse You Dymphna!
We know all too well your adherence to those evil little bits of brass. But I agree with the Good Herr Doktor's analysis regarding your evil ways.... You hate modellers. Your unhealthy obsession with PE and very small parts (not to mention swarthy gigolos) has mired you so deep in AMS that you never finish a model. We at the E-Cademy have tracked you all over the world, through all the world's steamy armpits, we trace you by the trail of unfinished models you leave all over the world! You are seething with envy and hatred at us modellers, who have renounced these tiny devils and can complete our models.
But there is hope, even for you. Book yourself in here at the E-Cademy and we can cure you. After doing our 24 step program, you too can build and finish any model you undertake. You'll be happier for it, believe me. and we won't charge you either, all we want is a detailed confession regarding the evil you have spread throughout the modelling community.,,,
All the Best

[glow=red,2,300] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA[/glow]Your E-Cademy could never hold my large lush curves... I would eat your E-Caddy bare in a matter hours.... 24 step program... I will give you a one step program on all those cursed kits you have built... I shudder when I think of all that plastic glued together with normal glue... How we tried to seduce you to the C.A. side... Eduardo had you so close to being a full member of the AMS tribe. You even knew the secret handshake and had taken our course in black faced sheep riding to become a full blown member. Then that.... cursed ...shudder.. spit... Herr Doktor snatched you from us... > One day our paths will cross and I will have my way with you again.......

Stephen;
There is no end to her depravity believe me. She is a devil woman with evil on her mind! Topgun seems too far gone to be helped. Pity, he was a talented modeller too. No wonder she targeted him.
OTOH, did you know that potato salad can be used as handy filler for wing roots and other large joins? The Good Herr Doktor mentions it being used in Germany during the 1920's inflation when no-one could afford the cost of putty (See Vol XVII The Collected Works of The Good Herr Doktor K. Von Humbrol, Ch 7 "The Weimar Years"; M.O.D.E.L. 2001).

Neil_E will wonders never cease? Here's bit of help for those of you who are having trouble with airbrushing acrylics. If your having the paint dry too quickly coming out of the airbrush, instead of any homemade alcohol/water mix as a thinner try Windex window cleaner, windshield wiper fluid (that you can buy all day long for .99 USD a gallon.) or distilled water. You can easily double your pleasure and eliminate tons of frustration. Less clogs and better flow.

Stephen;
I haven't tried Windex, though we have it here too. Blue stuff it is. I usually thin with Future (except for Tamiya paints) which works fine most times. It gives a nice hard finish and the effects of the Future means no runs too.
To paraphrase Homer J Simpson:
"Mmm Future....Is there nothing it can't do?

Future? Just don't let it dry in your airbrush. Now thats a clog. Windex no clog.

If we're endorsing top modelling tips, I don't remember who first recommended cyanoacrylate and talc as a filler, but full marks that man. Just tried it. Three thin coats of filler all sanded back in one evening. Amazing!
Richard
....and it smells so nice when you sand it too....
