Dear Pete and Topgun;
I am writing to express some concern re your treatment of locally positioned domestic felines in order to further your modelling aims. Using the SMASH-R Index, torture of cats for modelling purposes rated as a 7th percentile indicator of Advancing AMS.
It is my advice to desist from this unless you want a bunch of anorak clad, placard waving animal rights activists on your doorstop.
There is a solution (as usual) from The Institute to your slightly strange desires to dewhisker Kitty for (I assume) rigging purposes.
After collecting a bunch of stray Liberian cats, Institute employed geneticists are working to develop a super race of cats which, among other things will have very long whiskers, which we will be able to harvest and sell via the internet at a respectable profit, thus enabling that Bahamas research field trip I have been dreaming about.
Further to this we are working on developing a highly intelligent, yet bald cat, which can be utilised as a handy 'third hand' during those tricky modelling moments. Another first for The Institute!
All the Best

etc etc.
PS: Pete, did you see the post re the DH-2 on the Fokker Eindecker thread?

Hi Neil:
I showed yours and topguns' posts to my youngest daughter, and she got quite a chuckle out of it. Sir Neil, I take righteous umbrage against your accusation that I use my daughter's cat whiskers for rigging. Nothing could be further from the truth. Instead, I use used guitar thin e-string, or stretched sprue. I would never dream of harming Fat Cat in this fashion. The utter nerve sir!! > >
But anyway, Fat Cat justs sits and watches while I build, then goes off and plays with my dog, Maximillian. They really are best buds. Neil, I read your post re the DH-2, and I know just who to go to in my club for further info and Windsock files. Perhaps you've seen his work on the WW I Modeling Pages. His name is Dave Calhoun.

I'm warning you guys: The first one who mentions using cat gut violin strings is gonna get us all in big trouble. I'm going to Starbuck's, the last one out of the classroom turn off the lights. :

When I see one of those nude PETA models out of her G string, I have no problem flying my plane.
