Eduard 1/48 Fokker Dr.I

Greetings, All!

Images of the Eduard 1/48 Fokker Dr.I are now up on the Eduard site. I'll have to study the images closer. But, generally looks good! The figures look great!

Have a look ...

Eduard Model Accessories ltd.

Cheers!

First impressions

Wing ribs are a combination of raised and scribed lines. In the enlarged photos it looks a bit odd, but in real life may look OK. We'll see.

Fuselage is nicely done.

BTW, it looks like they (correctly) have the lower wing notched for the landing gear.

Looks like they got a six year old to put it together...

They've got the cowling right though....Which'll be a first.

$74.95 ! I will wait for the weekend edition......
Eduard keep the wrong "detachable" axle wing but the figures are really nice.

Since they included the vR figures & medal

Why didn't they just do two Tripes, & leave the Albatros out?? That, at least, would have made sense from the modeler's standpoint. This offering smacks faintly of taking advantage of those "Gotta be First on the Block" buyers.

Leading edges

One good thing — I don't see the dreaded sawtooth leading edge pattern that has plagued so many kits!

And looks like they were in rush to get it up on the website too. The tripe profiles are mislabeled as Albatros and is it me or is the built up model look to be hastily put together?

And yes, I also have enough unbuild Albatros to last me. A second tripe would have made it almost worth it. I'll waited this long, I can wait a bit longer for another release down the road.

Salute,
Steve

Gentlemen, as a modeler this would be the first time in years I have decided to venture into plastic kits. I have an affinity for the Albatross family including the earlier Pfaltz aircraft. I am also looking for suggested suppliers and Eduard is one that was suggested, do you have any other reliable suppliers in mind? As for the scale is it either 1/72 or 1/48 that I should be concentrating on, especially with the first few? I have excellent hand skills and do build free flight aircraft, though painting is a struggle. So put me down the correct path please. Doc

looks good ..

But whoever they had build that for there site slapped that together look at the head on shot also the cowling looks better than Rodens 1/32 nd offering .
Also i can do without the albatros but i don't have any MVR decals for one either .
The price seems high when i first saw it but if you take into acount all those decals the resin figures that would retail for at least $12.00 + a piece and the rest of the goodies it's a real bargain .i wil get it maybe even 2 .
