Since you can't buy the Aerobase kits in the USA at this time I contacted them about purchasing direct. Here's what they sent.
Dear Mr. Lawson...I recommend that you buy from me direct by air. The shipping fee costs you only 2000Yen for 2 Foker kits. I accept VISA / MasterCard. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Shinichi Iwami

[b] I am of the etched brass drives me crazy school too.I only tried it once and didnt like it. But I admire anyone who ultimately masters it.Good Luck! Cheers .John.

JohnReid; The sweet thing about this kit is the brass is durable enough to work straight from the directions well. Its made to go together well. It is only when you decide to do a conversion like my AMS afflicted alter ego that you run into the really fun stuff that turns your hair grey.

Hi Stephen,
One of my local shops has this kit on the shelf. It went from being on display to being stuck in with the others. As this shop deals mainly in R/C models, I'm surprised he had it at all. I'll wait a bit longer then offer to take it off his hands it at a reduced price. <_< Not that I need another kit to ponder over..........
Salute,
Steve

A bit late noticing this, but the 2000 JPY equals about $18.90 USD, courtesy of:

A rough estimate can be made by treating 1 Yen as 1¢.
I never seem to get around to bookmarking this one but I do remember that "scalemodelindex" in a Google search gets me here, where there is a link to this currency converter:

Here is the snafu the 2000 is for ONLY for shipping. Each kit costs about 75.00 USD. Still thats better than the original $106.00 I paid at the hobby shop. Caveat emptor!!!! BUYER BEWARE.

Greetings all;
When I finished my version of 144/17 with half the fabric stripped away I was contracted to build a similar version on Voss' F.I 103/17 markings. Since these are not pending publishing here's a bit of fun. About 75% done.
