Wing Alignment Tool: Whatsitzname??
Hi, Everyone,
Ther's an alignment tool on the market that's apparently quite helpful when aligning and gluing upper wings to WW1 models. It's made out of brass and goes together like a Meccano set on steroids. I think Aeroclub makes it, but I can't find it on their site. Can anyone tell me what it's called and where it can be purchased? Thanks in Advance!

Hi, Troops,
Cancel my last. I just did a last gasp scan of the Aeroclub site, and found what I was looking for under..."Tools!" It's the "Aeroclub Biplane Assembly Jig, £31.49." I saw a review of it somewhere, and it seems to be quite a handy item, especially for a kit such as the Eduard 1/48th DH-2. If anyone has one of these and can give a short dissertation as to pros and cons, I'd love to read it.

I bought the jig recently and very nice it is, too.
The only thing I've got to do now is work out the stagger for a 1/48th Eduard Fok.DVII. I'm not the best in the world when it comes to angles.
DOH!
Bob

Hey.
I ordered mine today,I read the review in/on internet modeller and it seems very handy,I hope it will big enough for my 1/72 Staaken! Apparently there is a slight delay due to the company waiting for some etch parts to arrive.
Cheers

Hi, Duncan,
I knew I'd seen a review somewhere, and you've aimed me in the right direction: Internet Modeller! Thanks very much. My order will likely go in over the next few days.

To my Canadian friend Trackpad---http://www.aeroclub-models.com/ is the link--I did a SEARCH for "tools" and found the description second from the bottom---complete details, but no pix. As I figure that price to exceed a lot of bucks----Doc Duh! I just noticed you had found the site---OK my goof.

Hello, Downwind,
Thanks for your posting. You and others visiting here might like to see a review of the jig, in two parts, on "Internet Modeller." here are the links:
Aeroclub Biplane Assembly Jig
and...
Using the Aeroclub Biplane Assembly Jig
This looks like a pretty good piece of kit, and I'll probably send for it in a day or two. Delivery will probably take a while, but I'm in no hurry to do mortal combat with a 1/48th DH-2!
Thanks again for your response!

Please note, this was the original jig. From what I've read, the Mark II is a great improvement. I still haven't bought the new one since I haven't broken the old one yet - at such time as I do, I'll replace it with the Mark II.
Paul.

Paul,
Thanks for this. I have just this minute sent my order to Aeroclub, so I hope that I'll be sent the Mark II. The links were from a few years ago, to be sure. Once mine arrives, I'll post an update here to inform our forumites of the current status.

Hey,
Just recieved the jig in question-in a word SUPERB! I was sent the mark 2a version, which I take it is the latest issue. I looked at the review in internet modeller and there are quite a few changes to the original design. This version is a far superior beast!
