Russ, this exact thing happened to me, running IE on a Mac running system 9.2.
The two really don't like eachother. IE or myself corrupted at least three Browser preferences documents (the advanced kind!) and I had to set up all my proxy helpers, etc, each time. Part of that was that my passwords to the Drome were lost, each time.
On two other occasions, this happened "spontaneously" but I suspect that was a sneak-preview of the aforementioned melt-down. It may be that Mac OS does not like the YABBA dabba do code.
on Scott, I do not believe...and he prolly can't help you, Mac or no.
My solution was to go to OS10 and Safari, and thus far, no problemo said the man as he passed the 10th window on the way down...
a) your browser
B) your os
c) a wakked directory file (see a & B)
"A King may move a man, a father may claim a son,
but remember that even when those who move you be Kings,
or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone.
When you stand before God, you cannot say,
"But I was told by others to do thus."
"Virtue was not convenient at the time."
This will not suffice.."
