If this worked, this is my Eduard kit now under construction. Mixture of Floquil British Crimson and Box Car Red.

For accuracy, one thing to note on Stephen's model, just as he shows it the #425/17 was painted over, but still readable. A cross cut from the side of the plane on display in a museum shows the /17 pretty clearly.

Gordon,

I'm great thanks mate. I couldn't see the pic you "posted". Perhaps it's because you are an unregistered user. I was unable to post it as well. Perhaps our very good friend Dan-San can post it for us, and I'm sure he would like to have a copy of the pic as well. I'll email them to him and see if he can post it for us.

Scottie,

The piece of cloth was found (as Gordon stated) in the personal photo album of a 3AFC pilot. This is almost CERTAINLY a genuine piece of cloth. The pilot was one of the pallbearers at the Rittmeister's funeral.

Additionally, it was almost certainly unexposed to any kind of light for nigh on 80 odd years. Any piece of cloth displayed in a museum may have been affected by lighting of the display, and countless flash photographs over the years. I would suggest that this may be the best representation of the actual colour around (given the limitations of my camera (Nikon Coolpix) and the posting here.

If you wish to receive an copy by email, feel free to contact me.

Scottie,

I was unable to post the pic here, and was also unable to send it to Dan-San. If you wish a copy of the photo, please email me with YOUR email address and simply ask for the pics.
