Brad, as usual it’s looking great and I really appreciate the tremendous workmanship.
I too look forward to seeing it completed, and it just won’t be the same with out you living here in Adelaide.
We won’t be able to just catch up at the local model shows…
I hope that you will make it back here to live after your stint away, also I wish you both the very best of luck and good wishes while you are away.
Your friend
Paul

I have now had a crack at the Fokker streaked finish. I tried a mix of black and yellow ochre oil paints streaked over light blue. Not sure if it is accurate (will anyone ever be sure?). For some reason the photos show each component as a different colour (but they are all the same...)
I also painted the face onto the cowling - knowing roden's decals, I did not think they would sit over the curves very well.
Next is on to major assembly - I think I will keep the weathering light to emphasise the nice lines of the aircraft.
Let me know what you think.

Hey there folks, with only a couple of weeks before I move house, she is finished (mistakes and all). The majority of the major construction went relatively smoothly. I decided to keep the weathing moderate by using some oversprays, some dabs of silver on the metal parts and the odd dab of CDL to replicate minor deterioration of the poor quality fokker dope. I also used some oil washes to bring out the details and to replicate some castor oil staining under the fuselage. I only used the Roden decals for the serial numbers as the decals seemed to chip when I went to cut the crosses from the white backgrounds (If Roden is listening, it may be nice to include separate crosses in future?). As such, all of the national markings are from the spares box. Over all, even though I don't usually work in this scale, it was a fun build.
Anyways, here are some pics.
