Question Where can I get Voisin 8 plans

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have the plans for a Voisin 8?
I think I want to scratch build one.

Thanks,
John

The Smithsonian has one in their collection and offeres a drawing set for it.

NASM Archives Technical Drawings: Prepared Sets - List

BTW, before you go insane scratchbuilding on, the HiTech Voison 10 may be a good candidate as a start to base it off of. The kit's still available through Squadron.com and comes up in their flyer every few months for about half of normal retail.

I built it as a Voisin 10 and the kit was a handful, but does build. You may be able to use a whole lot from the kit. I think the big differences were in the rudder and nacelle as well as a different motor.

Good luck

Chris

Thanks Chris,
I think I will hunt down a Hi-Tech kit....it's in 1/48 isn't it? I was thinking more along the lines of 1/32 scale...it will only be uhhhh huge. I don't think I'll go as far as down to the ribs detail just form the wings out of sheet brass with the ribs scribed in and a steel spar for strength. I've found that thin brass will hold it's shape so hopfully the struts will hold it up and together. I figure It'll take forever to build but hey I got time. I'll write the Smith' for the plans. If I ever get anything done on it I hope I get over my fear of posting and offer up some pics to the "Gods" of modeling here. Now I have to get back to my Nieuport 16 (based on the Special Hobby 11)....finish the details on acouple of more planes....I need to learn to keep my mind on track....

I didnt even think about it until later that you were going to do it in another scale. The Hitech kit is 1/48....It may be useful for reference.

It sounds like you've got a good plan. I'm looking forward to seeing progress.

Now if I can just get motivated to start on something....
