Greetings,

Thank you very much, Drew and Doug, for your kind comments.

Stephen,

You're right, it's going to be D2096/16 "Vera". I know my scheme is wrong on the first pictures, those were merely colour tests.

I thoroughly and with great interest read the thread about D2090/16, which also deals with some interesting debate about "Vera", here:

Albatros DIII  2090/17

I'm with Dan San, and as I interpret his descriptions, "Vera" was applied with the same scheme as D2090/16. I certainly hope so, because both wings are painted. Seen from above, front up, the lower wings have light green left, olive middle both sides and venetian red to the right. The top wing has olive left, venetian red middle and light green to the right. Tail same as the lower wing.

I shall soon post some pictures of my progress with the lower wing finished.

Thank you
Kofoed

Greetings,

Just a little update. I have the machine guns and the exhaust on:

Some of the decals are also on:

The decals set beautifully on the gloss "Futured" surface. Here's a tail shot:

Finally a picture of the colour lay-out of the lower wing and tailplane:

Hopefully the next pictures will be of the finished model.

Thanks for looking
Kofoed

Well, I think that it couldn't be more close from what should be in real life. An amazing work for sure. Just can't stop watching those photos . Well done. Cheers.

Thumbs up

I have used Bob's Beautiful Buckles:

The "Office":

The camouflage:

And finally the belly:

It has been most pleasing building this. Of course, the wooden decals were quite time-consuming, but a painted version with Eduard etch, as I have used, would be quite straightforward and most rewarding to build.

Now, when will Roden make a DV?

Comments and hints for future use will be most welcome.

Thanks,
Kofoed

Wow, that is one pretty plane. Great job!

EDIT: Missed the bit about those being the Bob's buckles.

I'm going to go to the hardware store and take some pics of some plywood and try this out. Actually, I'd like to do this very aircraft now. I like the "Vera" thing. Wonder if my ancient printer will do the decals justice...

Anyway, thanks for sharing and giving me a new subject to be interested in![/url]

Keld,

I will keep it simple.
Stunning!

The wood effect is the best I've seen.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Bob
