Ouch - been there too.

This is one of the reasons I prefer to simulate my wood grain with oil paints - very sturdy once dry and very easily masked.

How are you planning on fixing this one?

First i have remove damaged decals on all panels where it hapend.

After this expirience I use just printed decals, no masks, to make insignia...
