No Doug, I am more than happy with the development that is going on here.
It's just that I have used the patterns that Wojtek posted and they gave me a result that I really like... Untill I get some more decal paper, I cannot try the other types that we have going here.

My decals have worked well, considering that I have used Gunze Gloss out of a rattle can instead of the Testors Decal Bonder that I ran out of half way through.

Once I have finished the build, I will post more photos.

Cheers,

Hugh

Let me ask this question if I may............How does the "doped" Lozenge weather? The undoped lozenge would undoubtedly fade and become bleached in the sun, but what about the doped lozenge? Some references "seem" to suggest it gets darker. I would conceed yellowing but get darker? Gloss white model paint doesnt take long to do it's yellowing thing.

Answers to the above questions might dictate how light or how dark a base decal layer should be, would it not ???

Regards
Steve

Looks like more and more people are tired of waiting for the other lozenge source that has been in the works for over a year now. Looks like you're making good progress. Good thread.

weathering

weathering?? Bob Buckles and my 2ed test you know 10% amber might be more on track then we thought here my thoughts on it the germans first used clear doped linen on their aircraft the linen was and off white and they put linseed oil on it { I thank} and turn it yellow!!so would the lozenge also have to be yellowed some??? if you look at BOBS and my amber test and look at the gepsymoths post of the LVG on page 9 of this thread and you wil see they look close to it!!! i no i no this is 90 year old lozenge ,but there should be some yellowing or amber tint i thank please tell me your thoughs on this...

Hi Doug

I have been working with cellulose finishes for over 30 years, some of it comes as water white fresh from the can which is totally clear with no tint but much of the earlier laquers I worked with were a light golden honey colour. The amber ageing would be quite strong after 10 years or so however I doubt the short active life in a war scenario would have allowed the clear dope to yellow very much. I also assume that the finishes on the aeroplanes were kept to a minimum to keep weight down. i think it would be usefull to keep your lozenge as a fresh from the factory finish and let individuals tone down the finish themselves maybe with Tamiya clear orange/yellow/smoke.

Keep up the good work

Cheers
Andrew
