Hello Doug Baumann,
I just need to see them side by side.
It appears that you have relocated the color locations on #6.
Color wise, they both look good to me. Perhaps if you corrected the color location on Test #3, assuming #6 is the corrected pattern, then we could have a look. I like both. #6 looks like commercial representations I have seen. I like the bright colors and overlapping borders of #3, it can always be weathered or muted to suit one's desire. I believe that it would make the best foundation to start with on modeling applications.
Best Wishes, FOKKERJ

FokkerJ,
The colors are in the same locations. If you look closely, you will see that the blue, green and yellow/tan all match up. The difference is the blue-green of #3 is much darker in #6. This conforms to most sources. See the links I posted earlier.

I have 'nt posted here very much but have been following this thread with much interest. I think Doug is on to something with his concept for printing decals.
I agree with SCMc, nothing flipped or swapped. The blue/green of #3 is a much darker green in #6. I also think that the medium blue of #3 is a shade lighter china blue in #6. I like both, #3 is more striking and has more color saturation (and is more pleasing to my eye) but in my opinion #6 is closer to what is generally accepted here as authentic. Thanks again for a very interesting discussion.

Hi FokkerJ,
I think you are looking at the darkest color in each. In #3 blue is the darkest color. Directly below the center tan polygons are blue-green polygons. This color is replaced with a much darker color in #6. The blue is also lighter in #6, but the same polygons are blue. There are some changes to each of the colors, with the biggest change to the blue-green, but the pattern has not changed.
Compare the NASM sample (1) with the Manfred Thiemeyer sample (2) on Mark Miller's German 5 Color Lozenge Camouflage Scheme page. You will see a similar change.
Steve
My post appears a bit redundant, since aust3298 posted while I was writing.
