I agree with Jay here that test he is postinglast there is one of my fav choices for the lower 4. as far as color and "vibarency" Except for as noted the Slight "Basalt" tone to the Grey. Which most likely would look better a Light-ish "Stone-Grey" ( TO me ?)

At the time I think Doug felt he had the "Scale" or one of the Polygons Distorted a little out of shape so it was too big in ref to the Upper color test he had finished.

AGAIN THOUGH I SUPER APPLUAD OUR SUPER HERO DouG B FOR HIS SUPER TIRELESS PERSISTENT EFFORTS TO BRING THESE COLOR PATTERNS TO LIFE IN AN EAGLTARIAN EFFORT TO PRODUCE A Printable Decal Version of the Fabric.

Ive tested the Upper Test on Decal Paper and It looks right. My first attempt washed off in the Water but I have since Laid an Acrylic top coat to it and will try agian late this weekend.

I think before I comment any further I think there are MORE than Enough Lower 4 color Tests here form me to attempt another Homemade Decal Print.

Just a quick playing around with my Photo Edit (Contrast/Gamma) and I was able to acheive what I think will make a good Decal Print enough for here at least to Put on a Model. SO I will Not make any more cooments until I try that first.

HERE to date I think is a MONTAGE of what we have so far here on the Four Color. The Corect Upper Colors in what i htink was the best test (BIGTEST3) for Printing and the last lower 4 color Test posted by DOug plus the smaple of a Surving Swatch of 4 color Lower with Dope, Dust and Oil stains on it.

I now this seems horendously long thread 42 pagesa dn counting but No doubt at the end there wil be a Final Short version of just the Clor tests that were the most popular. Like the Five color Intermdeiate I think Dougy NAILED straight out of the Corel !!

Yours MIkey
Look at Mikey's contribution.
The colors on the left of the upper are bright and vibrant.
The colors (almost colorless!) on the right of the lower are milky, foggy, even pastey! Something is amiss. It looks like it has been hanging on a wall for 90 years being exposed to hard light conditions.

Keep up the good work, Jay

HEY JAY ! I think we get it already ? Yeah we know the last Lower 4 QUITE aint there yet ! Give em a chance ! He'll fix it. Sometimes you have to take a break before you go back at it.

Yes this last one is something kinda wrong what J said. I think the Grey could be a little lighter sahde altogether like the Original sample kinda Confedrate War light smokey grey? BUT without the Basalt. I dont think thats goona change by itself. You have to get inthere and replace that color ?

Heres the Last test with the Correct scale . I brightend the "Contrast" and Lowered the "Gamma" and you can see how it changes it more toward what jay is talking about and more toward matching the brightness of the upper.

This is what I was talking about at doing at home and Printing to see how it comes out ?

BUT still I think the grey could be improved a little and WHOLA I think youd be done here. Yours Mikey

Thanks Mikey,

I think that you have it, it looks beautiful.
I agree, lighter on the Gray.
I'm sure Doug will be happy with your results.

I hope Doug knows that I was just teasin' with him and not trying to be hard, but I was trying to help me and him get back on track after being away from this pattern for over a month. I hope that there is no hard feelings, because Doug has performed one Helluva service to all of us and deserves all of the recognition that is due to him!

Best Wishes, Jay

P.S. I was just havin' fun with the medicated guy!

Hi Doug,

I would think that you would want the lower colors to be as intense as the upper colors.

#A-B

#C

#D

#E

Brighter lower colors with a lighter shade of Gray....I think that you would be done.

#'s A & D are a closer match to me.

Cheers, Jay
