Hi Doug,

The dope has been peeled off of the entire piece of fabric. That is why it is so wrinkled. Compare it to the second photo. That is the same piece of fabric before the dope was removed. You can see that the patterns are the same, but the colors are lighter and less saturated, because of the dope.

SCMc i looked at it lightly last night and did'nt see were it said it was peeled with the absence of virgin fabric to match to i was trying to use this but the wrinkels make it hard to see what color really is the proper color or shadow or reflection! some were in the wrinkels is the true color but i can't see it so i averaged it to get a color that is between the light and the dark.. the blue was under the rib tape and is very bright next to the other blues soo i drew the color from there i wish who ever this belongs to he would photographed it between a sheet of glass what i ment to say is the small blue spot was near the look of virgen fabric.. SCMc do you know who this belongs to??? thanks you gave me and idea SCMc Doug

I like this "Stone Gray" as they both look like a variation (shade) of Sage Green to me which makes more sense than a Gray!

Keep up the good work, Jay

Hi Doug,

The owner of The Aero Conservancy is Charles Gosse (forum member charles). You can contact him either through The Aero Conservancy homepage or through The Aerodrome (e-mail or PM).

You are correct, the Fokker fabric page does not say that the dope was removed. I assumed it from seeing that it was the same piece of fabric as the second picture with changes in color and texture, and his LVG aileron fabric showing photos after removing dope and before in the same order as the Fokker fabric. He does say that he removed the dope on this page.
