Greetings, everyone!

OK. I think I have the problem fixed. I have added United States Postal Service to the shipping options. Yes, the rates are FAR more reasonable. I have tested the system and it seems to be behaving correctly now.

I am in the process of contacting those that already placed orders to adjust the shipping costs.

Again, my apologies.

vonGoebel:

Yes. Rib tapes with a few twists! I will be including curved segments and scalloped segments (as well as the standard straight segments) to simplify application to those areas. The set may also include PC10 tapes and clear doped linen for RFC types, as well as blue French tapes. I'm also thinking of including a few lengths of fine fabric lacing. We will see.

1/48 interior lozenge is designed and ready to go to the printer. This will feature subtle modeling to represent uneven dye absorption, and also display the characteristic overprinted edges.

Cheers!

Tom

Shipping Rates

Greetings, everyone!

I have now added USPS Priority Mail to the shipping options for the most inexpensive rates.

Inside United States $4.80
Canada and Mexico $9.95
Anywhere else $11.95

Cheers!

To be fair, the ridiculous UPS charges may not be a fault of the Microsculpt site.

Since the oil price rises, UPS has been charging crazy prices for transatlantic packages.

All my family is back there, and we had to resort to ordering from UK web-sites for birthday presents.

I would go with the USPS option, but add insurance, so if it goes AWOL, you can get a replacement. Tracking doesn't work internationally with USPS, even though they say it does.

The Agony of it All!

A short note to say that my new decals arrived today: 4-colour upper and lower, plus the texturing sheet. I will now struggle manfully to continue on my self-appointed quest to finish a few models before I start anything new. But I have about seven in the mill, with an almost equal number of German aircraft in the pile than can easily use these new decals. And the decals look so G--D-- good! Ahhh, the conumdrum!! Ahhh, the agony!

Greetings Trackpad. You won't be disappointed in the lozenge.

Remember when working with the texure. The carrier film is invisible. Soak the decal film well in very warm water, until it floats easily on the paper backing. Next and position it generally where you want it. This means a generous overlap of the kit part is prudent. Then pull the paper out from under the decal as it settles in place. Let dry thoroughly using what ever decal softening system you prefer. After it is dry, then trim as needed.

When the carrier film disappears after you pull it from the paper backing your mind's eye wants to work hard to get an exact pin point location, if there is no overlap. The overlap helps you cut back on frustrations until you get use to working with it. If the texture film folds over on itself its a little difficult to catch right away.

Stephen:

Good point. There is also some additional info on application at www. MicroSculpt.com/resources.html.

Stephen/Trackpad:

Thank you both for the endorsement. I'm glad you find them to your liking.

Cheers!
