Orion Miniatures

Has anyone heard anything recent from Orion Miniatures since their initial release of their Staaken decals?

There was some discussion a little while back about these, but I don't know if anyone picked up a set.

I just ordered a set, so when I get back to the states next week, I'll know at least how they look on the sheet. They say they're printed by Microscale, so they'll work like they're supposed to.

The colors look better to me than the Roden ones. I thought Roden had too much red/ruby in theirs. And Roden decals aren't exactly know for how well they go down.

5 Color Night Lozenge - Printed Fabric

Hello All,

The Gotha sheets are done and the Naval Hex 1917 Pattern is being printed as we speak! After this, Vickie will do the 1918 'skewed' pattern.

The 4 Color Non-repeating pattern is next up, and for all you A-H fans, we are reproducing hexagonal camouflage seen on Knollers, Aviatiks and Bergs.
All will be out for Christmas.

You can see the new Gotha sheets on the website: Orion Miniatures.

Just scroll down and you'll see the new sheets under the Gotha section.

I'll have some of my Staaken build photos up shortly.

Thanks Guys!

Hi guys, this is a fascinating subject! I am very curious - how was the non repeating pattern printed? Surely it wasn't printed on giant sheets of fabric was it? Most fabric used at this time would have been between a metre and a metre and a half wide at the most I would have thought.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think that the "non repeating" pattern is the hand painted version and not color printed linen.

Hope this helps, if nothing else it will possibly rattle a cage or two and generate the correct answer.

Like FOKKERJ said,

it was "printed" on the fabric by hand with paint brushes ......
