Hi all,

I just found out about a company called Blueprint Models. They offer vacuform/multi-media 1/24 scale WWI plane kits.

See: http://www.kithobbyist.com/largescaleplane...rint_Models.htm

Does anyone here have any experience with them?

Regards,

I bought their Alb. D.V, and am pleased with it. They used the NASM "STROPP" book as a ref to produce the kit, so the level of detail is really good, wostly white metal and pe. You get a choice of resin prop/ spinner or vac spinner and wood to laminate&carve your own. Decals are beautiful, w/markings for von Scleich/ui Jasta 5 (B/W checkerboard)/von Hipple/Baeumer. You get full framework in heavy PE brass, and kit is basically assembled like a "stick and tissue" build w/ interior detailed before closing fuselage. The huge vac parts are a little daunting, but w/patience. . . Hth, Rob

Awesome. I'm looking at the N-28 with stars in my eyes.

Do you have any photos you can post?

Regards,

Luf, Sorry, Have no means to take fotos. SteveS has both the Bluprint D.VIII and the Nie.28, and says there's nothing behind the seat bulkhead in either of them. I'm pretty sure the D.VII had the fabric panel behind the seat, but I thought the Nieup was open framework behind it. He also says a friend of his, who built the Pfalz, recommends replacement of the white metal L/G as they tend to bow, overtime, from the weight of the model. In the case of the Albi, I can believe it. I'm toying with the idea of replacing the brass frame with wood, as it would be lighter and easier to finish. And, not that you care, I just discovered that their "U/I Jasta 5" kite is actually Koennecke's. Regards, Rob

I've heard good things about their kits. But I also heard they had an SE5, but can't find it listed. Anyone know anything about a large scale SE5?

My ears are ringing. Did I hear someone mention my name? (hi Rob) *;D I'll try and post some pix of the kit's contents this weekend. Up to the same standards as their other kits. I only found their website myself a few weeks ago. They gotta post some pix to sell some more kits. Nice stuff. I see they have a D.VII listed. If I'd only known, I would be building theirs instead of the Battle Axe. D.VII. Not much difference in price. And probably a lot less work.

Best Wishes,
Steve

Here is some pix of the N28. The first one was scanned from a old Windsock mag. I do believe they started out as Marcos, then Four Star Collectables, Then called Blueprint Models. The next 2 pix are of some of the kits parts.
Best Wishes,
Steve Sweeney

Picture #3 Some of the vacuform parts. I don't know if the white parts will show up that good in the pix but the quality is real nice. A really nice kit. The Fokker D8 parts are even better! Hard part is picking one which one to start first.
All the Best,
Steve
