Mike,
Cheers for the info.
You got to love the detail in Karaya kits.

I can vouch for the quality of the Karaya kits. And at the price Mike has them, they're a great value.

Thanks for bringing them to this side of the pond, Mike.

These are an Indtroductry OFFer Price. Future Stock Orders will have to be priced a few bucks ($5) more. Let me know what you want for hte second order and I will get it for you. Roll has had these kits but at a much higher price. $70-80 each.

I also have the Hisso-Suzia 300 hp engine and the 11 clyinder Haske Siemens Rotory Engine (48th) kits too but I didnt list them.

Radek tells me there is another German two seater Kit in progress now.

I have the U-Berg, DH-5 , and F4 left in stock right now.

Karaya also makes a Nieuport 24 and Nieuport 25as well as a Nieuport 12. If anyone wants these let me know and I'll include them in the next order.

Yours MIke

Yes that is the one I had (it sold this weekend) .

Albatros D.XI

KARAYA Lists it as item "48022 ALb D.XI - second Version"

They also make a "48021 Alb D.XI first version" but I had ordered and received 48022 which someone just ordered this weekend.

I will order some more ASAP but cant afford to carry shelves full of them and hold them all until they move ?

They make 3 versions of the DFW C.V, and 4 versions of the F4 Buzzard kit and 2 versions of the Alb D.XI ?

Which is why Id love to hear from anyone who wants something specific. mgtaylor2000@aol.com

They ALL look like Great Kits to make as easy OOB or as Complicated as you want to. They all look like they have lots of "Easy" big pieces to go together as well as lots and lots of tiny seperately molded detail parts as well.

THe most striking feature I noticed in photographing them is that many of the Kits "WING STRUTS" have BRASS WIRE Inserts molded directly into them with bare wire ends protruding from the part for drilling a pilot hole and precise placement/strength/adustablility.

I was taken back because I had always heard of this techique as an Experienced Modelers "trick" BUT I had never before seen it already incorporated into a Production Kit.

Your mike

Not only the wing struts. On my DH.5 the landing gear struts were als re-inforced with metal, seemed to be pieces of injection needles. Very hard metal that is.

The ones in the wing struts were also in steel, not so hard as the needles, but hard enough!

When modelers do it, usually they only set brass or steel pins in about 1/8" or less. That's all that's needed to give a good positive locating pin.

What Karaya does, casting a copper rod into the struts and other structural pieces, is actually fairly common among the higher end European manufacturers. It's time consuming to do, but worth it if you want to have resin struts in anything bigger than 1/72.

This is not something unique to Karaya. Montex, another Polish mftr does it as well. There are others also.
