Hi all,
I know of a Roland and a Nieuport 28 with shark (or other) mouth markings. Does anyone know of other WWI planes with that kind of scheme? How about tiger stripes on the wing or fuselage?
Regards,

I have the two Aircam "Sharkmouth" books at home, but can't say I remember any others off-hand.

In an old copy of SAM I have seen a pic of a crashed Brisfit in the U.K. Painted in black and white sqaures and a sharks mouth on the cowling. Page 84 of vol 16 number 2 December 1993.

RAF BE2e # 8853 had a somewhat drunken looking shark's mouth painted on it (Windsock Datafile 14, p. 12).
Also, Windsock Datafile 72 depicts a Airco DH9 with a mouth painted on the nose (p. 25).
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, guys.
Ross, by the way, what's SAM?
The reason I asked about this topic in the first place was that I read a review of the Glencoe N-28 where the author mentioned that he was making a collection of shark-mouthed planes. I thought that was a really neat idea.
Regards,

Greetings Ross & all:
In Aeroplane Monthly, May 1979 or 80 thereabouts on Page 274 and in a later issue we see several photos from their 'Personal Albums' section concerning the 'Chequered Crocodile' Bristol F.2B Fighter C4879. Taken at old Sarum airfield in May 1918 and No.7 training Squadron at No.33 Training Depot (TDS). The port side of the aircraft has the tongue hanging from the mouth. Cheers to all.

Greetings all: Note also the highly decorative Nieuport 24, 24bis, and 27 types at the 3rd A.I.C at Issoudon. *'The Jazbo' the 'Flying Fish' (two different machines) There was one even painted like an American or golden Eagle. All with 'mouths' or beaks if you will. *Most of these were assigned at one time or another to Field Eight at Issoudon. *
