Hello All,

Any new sources for this rigging medium????
The one listed here on the forum in an earlier thread is no longer in business?

Thanks in advance!
Ken

I still got halve a bag of this stuff (known as "Wonder Wire") I am very carefull using it, and sure would like a new (lifetime) supply. I am not very old, so want lots and lots of it.

Cheers, nico

Hello Ken & Nico,

What does the wire look like? I've never heard of the stuff.
Cheers,
Bob

Black, very thin, comes in a bag as a single coil. being ceramic it will shatter if wound too tightly but that seldom happens. You cut it by placing it on a hard surface and rolling a curved blade over it. Very strong, and looks very once in place. It doesn't sag so easily as metal wires over a long run. I'm down to my last couple of metres. It's the easiest material I've ever come across for rigging, so it figures that it's very hard to come across.

YEP,

That's the stuff allright. What I like most about it, is the fact it stretches by itself.

I used this ceramic wire to rig my Pfalz D.IIIa and it works very well. It is approx 0.006" (a tad big for 48th scale IMO, perfect for 32nd scale) and is a shiny dark grey or steel colour so no painting is required. The only thing I don't like about it it that it does not add structural integrity and you have to cut it to very near perfect required lengths.

Sorry, I got it from the same place Galloway found on other thread. I do not recall name of company. I will check my package at home and let you know company name. I would suggest a Google search for ceramic wire would be quickest way to find product...
