Hi,
Just got a nice decal sheet from Americal/Gryphon, and I'm anxious to try them out. Never used this brand before, and I was wondering if you need to do anything special with them- can you use the MicroScale System without any problems, and is it safe to use Solvaset ?
Thanks, willy

Hello Willy,

I used Microscale Sol ans Set without problem. Regarding Solvaset, I don't know ; I never used this product (as my knowledge, not available here in Belgium).

Best regards from our country.

Edmond

Willy;

You can use Micro Sol and Micro Set on A/G decals without any problems - I have been using these 2 products on these decals for several years without any trouble.

I would not recommend Solvaset however - this product is too strong for such delicate decals.

Greetings all: Since you have to precut some of your decals to fit, try using some Americal decal scrap on a scrap piece of painted plastic. I have not had any problems using either Micro sol& set system or Solvaset. What I would be afraid to use is the old Disol system now that would shred some beau coup decals.

I use the solvaset with them all the time. When they start to soften, I dip the solvaset brush in water and flush the decal with it to arrest the action of the solvaset. Then, I take a swatch of paper towel, made damp to the touch, and gently but firmly blot it into place. The trick is to not let the solvaset soften it too much. I find they stick like paint when so applied. I alway clearcoat over them, too.
