I agree with Rob Owens- darn difficult to describe PC 10 correctly.

Straight from the factory, PC 10 was originaly a Dark Green - however exposure the the elements (sun, rain and snow) soon turned the Dark Green to a Khaki-Green color. Further weathering gave it a brownish appearance.

So, what we have are 3 different finishes for the same color plus the variations in-between, which gives you a lot of leaway on the .correct color!

Guy,

I told you to use the plane cover with Maxium UV protection.... It costs a little more but the greens stay green.

The real beauty (for a modeler) of PC10 is that if you want to model RFC aircraft, you could use a base formula for your first model, and tint it with other colo(u)rs for subsequent builds. I saw an armor modeler do this within his M-4 Sherman collection, and the results were VERY striking. All were "OD" but none was quite the same as the others. Alles Gute, Rob

I've heard it described as everything from "chocolate brown" to green. *I suppose that there was not only normal fading from sunlight, but also a color shift as the clear dope base yellowed with age.

I guess it's sort of a "Dicta Ira" thing, then? *Artistic interpretation, and whatnot? *(In other words, it would be tough to screw up too badly!)

Thanks for all the replies,

I guess it really comes down to who you are trying to satisfy, yourself (this looks great) or ?????

Meaning, you decide what looks good.

Although, one questions keeps me wondering:

Historians preport to know the color of King Arthur's hair.....but can't define the color of pc10.

But then I once purchased 2 1 gal cans of Sky Blue enamel paint by the same manufature.

When I openned the cans...they were very different shades.
