This has probably been discussed previously, but I was wondering what paint (or combinations of paints) people have used for the PC10 finish so commonly seen on WW1 aircraft of the British RFC.
Of course, I realize that there is some (well alright, LOTS) of controversy about the proper colour for PC10. *(Another thread?) *I was simply wondering, which paint do you use?

Usually, I use Vallejo or Humbrol.
For Humbrol, I mix Chocolate Brown 98 and Dark Green 30 in equal parts. If I want a brownish or a greenish hue, I add more brown or more green.
For Vallejo, I use Brown Violet with a *dab of Dark Brown or Dark Green.

I too favour the brown side of the argument. Humbrol "Brown Bess" straight out of the tin when I can get it.

You have a (presumably) unexpected smiley in there. When you put a character "8" next to a character ")" the 8) is the result after posting unless you check the Disable Smilies box. You can modify the post yourself, if you wish.
Apologies if this is old news

Many thanks for this advies.
Is it better now ?
As you presumably pointed out, I'm a newcomer and I've a lot to learning.

I'm NOT a newcomer, and I've still got a lot to learn! Re PC10, from what I gather, it was a lot like Soviet Armor Green: a lot of variations. PC10 weathered badly, so the exact shade might appear different on the same airframe, let alone on different aircraft/ batches of paint. Throw in PC12, and you've got colors that are practically "Impervious to Criticism." Rob

Modelmaster "Green Drab" is one that, to me, looks a lot like the finish on repro and restored a/c from the Great War Period. Don't know if that is a good guide, though. I do believe that the MISTERKIT PC-10 looks a little weird. It looks like one of the wacky colors in the 64 box of crayolas we used to have as kids, maybe "sea green" or something. Usually, I take some Modelmaster "Green Drab" and "brown" it with MM "Field Drab".

I didn't even know what PC10 was, I just had the same problem with the smilies the other day so don't think I'm anything but a newbie.

And I thought that PC10 was the latest revision of the Civil Service Manual.
