"The Death of the Red Baron" diorama
Heres a diorama of the scene of MVR's death with the Aussies scavanging his bird.Though Im a bit sceptic as one of the Austrailians are carrying the (entirely in one piece) DR1's rudder off.As I recall, they scavanged the rudder to bits, thus, leaving only the frame. Its a good looking diorama overal.Heres the link.
"The Death of the Red Baron" Diorama
(edit)Plus, the crosses are all wrong. It had balken crosses. They should have looked at Russell Smiths Feeding on the legend

Wow! I can count at least 10 errors in that diorama. And thats just from historical texts. Sound like the are mass producing misconceptions. . . .

And to my mind as an Australian, in bad taste.
Cheers,

Almost any exposure that dioramas get as an genre is fine by me but unfortunately this is a poor example of what could have been a nice storyboard diorama.

I think it's really, really good. I hope to one day build something that nice and accurate. I don't know why you guys are so negative on it....for only 200 bucks, I can get one of these and show it off at the contests....it'll be a shoe in at the next nationals as long as one of you guys don't do it too....
Really, for the price, it could have, and should have been very good. For something like that, if it was $30 and marketed towards children, it would have been ok.

It is a nice diorama, but its something that just irks us WW1 aviation pro's like us Im a bit curious Stephen, list the 10 errors you've spotted,it'll be like those kid puzzles of when you have to spot hidden objects in the scene.

Ok I'll start.
1). All the Eisernes Kreuz are wrong, 425/17 had the new style of the Balkenkreuz as of April 10 1918
2). The location of the cross field on the fuselage is incorrect, this was the placement for the FI's. It should be further back so the white cross field touches the vertical stabilizer.
3). The ruder was not taken off for at lest two days after the crash.
4). The top wing was not broken in half, this can be seen from the re-assembled photo.

The uniform of MVR doesn't seem right as I heard he was in his PJ's(?) at the time.

GREAT Vingnette Alot going on there.
Artisitic Liscece Accepted. Sure hope it's not made in China ? (Dont thay have anythng better to do than make awesome assembly line airbrushed Metal masterpieces and Wire wrap and tape toy packages together ?
Seriously though the Splayed out Richtofen figures seems a bit macabe ?
Guess were not used to seeing vingette figures of Corpses although I know they are out there.
Articistly though as Vingetees go it is very good yes.
Yours Muke
