???Does anyone know of a Large Scale (1/32 or larger), SE5? I've been told there's a vac kit out there somewhere, but haven't found one yet.

If this is of any help:
Contrail produced a 1:24 scale S.E.5a in their Black Knight series.

I believe Hasagawa made a 1/6 or 1/8 scale model.
Part of the same line as the Camel and DR1.
I believe it has been out of production for quite some time, so locating one might be a problem.

;D That's a Lick on Me! Guess I should have specified. The 1/8 and such are too big for my humble abode. I'm thinking more along the lines of 1/32 to 1/24. I remember one from my childhood (my wife says I'm still in it, but what does she know?), that was from Aurora or Revell. Seems there was a DVII and SE5 that screwed together? Anyone remember these? John

No !!!!!
Aurora made big kits......
Revel made the SPAD, Camel, and DRI but no SE5.
There are some kit books, that list all kits ever made.
And Fine Scale Modeller answers questions like your if you write them.

I had the DVII and let it go. It brings silly prices on e-bay now
From what I can remember it appeared it was intended as a control line model and simlar in character to the Cox Thimbledrome models. Single surface wings, enlarged tail and suspect contours are much in evidence. It would be possible to turn it into a static display model but probably more work than it merits. I haven't seen the SE

PeterL is correct.
I have the Aurora SE 5. It's ca. 1/15 scale, srewed together and it's an ex-control-line model, exactly as described by Peter.
And I have a 1/15 card model which is quite perfect, it's from a spanish firm, but I could not remember which one. I have all parts cut out therefore I have thrown away the logo....

Thanks guys. The memory fades with time and everyone will eventually get a bad case of CRS. I wasn't sure about the maker but I knew they were large scale. But i'll wait for a decent vac or injected kit. A side note on the silly prices on ebay; I just got an e-mail from Nostalgic Plastic about Futures. ALL THE $100+ B-29's are being re-released at US$39. I won't tell about the re-release price of the Space Shuttle, for the people who grabbed one a few weeks ago for OVER $250. As P.T. Barnum once said,"There's one born every minute!" (or was that W.C. Fields?) John
