???
Guys i just bought this kit. The instructions for the Nie.11/16 element suggest that i can fit the 16s with LePrieur Rockets. Now i fancy that the outer wing strutts would be fitted with the mounts as standard is this correct and can i fit the rockets to ewither of the decal options in the kit being: N1386 Sous-lieutenant Bocquet July 1916 and Serial Unknown Adjudant Andre Chainant 1916.

Thanks for you help

H

Ian, e-mailed you scans of French, Brit, and Belgian 16's with rockets, but I've never seen photos (but there lots of photos I haven't seen!) of "The Bluebird 3" or the other machine with rockets. The Eduard Nie.11 kit #8069 also comes with rockets and parts for the 16, so it may be that Eduard just gave the builder another armament option not necessarily used by either of the aircraft depicted on the decal sheet (8069 has N26 and N62 machines). Hope you can find someone w/better resources, Rob

Thanks for the scans unfortunately my Acrobat reader is a tad squidgy at present. I must upgrade it some time so i could not open them.

Any other format possible?

Thanks again

Whoops! Looks like Chainant's "Bluebird 3" DID carry Le Prieur rockets. Go to

http://www.wwi-models.org/mail-archi...hive.2002/4654

and scroll down to "Wed 18 Sep 2002 05:48:26" from no less than our esteemed Forumite Matt Bittner. I doubted Eduard??? Also, in the post right above it, observations that Bo(u)quet never flew N1386. Enjoy ur build, and don't forget to add "blast panels" to the top of the lower wing! Regards, Rob

Ian, Just noticed that "Bluebird 3" was not a U/I serial, but was N1209 (at least according to M. Chassard). Looking forward to your posting of photos of "Bluebird 3" with rockets, and the correct serial. Alles Gute, Rob

Excellent stuff!

Thanks a lot for your help there.

I sat down tonight and got the interior built and painted. I'll pin it in the fuselage before i go to work in the am and hopefully i should be able to deal with the major assembly stages tomorrow night.

One question remains just what is a Moreau gun mount. Is that the arched type in the Profipack Nie.11 kit perhaps as i have two of those to 'borrow' it from.

Ian, I THINK the Moreau mount is depicted at

www.wwi-models.org/Photos/Fre/Nie11/index.html

(at least that's the mount I scratched for my kite). Rob
