I remember there was a thread about the Contrail Z-S R.VI kit, which is no longer available, not so long ago, so I thought that some of you might be interested to know that there's a copy of this kit on e-bay UK right now. It's got seven days left and the price is currently £15 (c.$23). Just go to e-bay.co.uk and search for 'Zeppelin Staaken' or 'Contrail'.
The sale is nothing to do with me, just passing on the info.

For those of you interested in a smaller version of the Zep Staaken R.VI check out the Internet Modeler and Bob Pearson's first look.

Stephen,
Good lord, man! That diorama is beyond belief! In the build up article, you state that you began in '82, and finished in '90. Was that just the R.VI or the complete scene?
Jeez, and to think I'm a little nervous about getting my Roden Gotha G.V right. I am humbled, sir.

The whole diorama start to finish. I realized the far extremes of AMS during this build. Its too colorful for most magazines to publish- too busy with 722 figures. As WWI builds go, it has more figures than any to date. I've checked. Now I just put out mediocre 1/48 scale builds.

Hah! Mediocre my sweet bippy! I've seen your gallery.
Oh, and BTW, is that a fantasy scene or a recreation of an actual event? At first glance, I thought you had photo-shopped your model into an actual carny! It took me a couple seconds to realise just what it was I was actually looking at. Then the expletives began.

I fully admit that I let this one get ahead of me. The premis was based on a photostatic copy of an old news paper story from 1918. The notice was cancelling the show until summer and of course that was never ,manifested either. I did what I thought the show might look like. Plans to display a Deutsche Riesen and captured fighter but its all in the build up history.

For those interested, it sold for £51; that's about $82.
