Red face First Post! Dragon 1/48 Fokker Dr. I

Glad to have found this place! I'm a little sad that it took me so long, with all the great posts and the amazing models here!

Here is my second WWI model that I've ever attempted. Fun build, but since I've really been much more of a WWII guy over my model building career, there are still a lot of things I need to learn. My rigging work still leaves a lot to be desired! Scrounged the guns out of the spares box, so they're definitely not as nice as they should be. The propeller will be replaced by a wooden one, as soon as I can get down how to carve them out of laminates! Lots of other problems, but go easy on me!!

Josef Jacobs' 450/17 in June of 1918.

Here's the Fokker with my one other build, Eduard's Albatros D. III

Those are fine. The subtle shading and muted colors make them more realistic.

You'll only improve from here, although you're already at a pretty impressive level.

Thanks so much, Gents!

Really appreciate the welcome, and the kind words on the model. It is definitely a completely different world building these things, but they are strangely addicting!

Been poking around some more, and there sure is a lot to be learned around here. I've just started Roden's 1/48 Fokker D. VII, and once it comes to all that crazy lozenge, I know that this place will come in handy.

Thanks, Stephen, for helping me find this place-- even if you didn't know you did!!
