Rodens Fokker D.VII 1/48

Well the first posting of this is lost past page 5 . I was off the build do to moving and such .

I'm back on with the build once more and I have some up date pic's .

Trying to do this one out of the box which I find hard to do at most times .
The only thing which I added in the cockpit is a new hand pump , carpet monster got the kit part !! Seat belts I made from Tamiya masking tape painted an dirty white . ( polly scale line ) . As stated before I was going to use Microsulpt 4 colour lozenge but didn't have enough for the project . Mis-haps from my last build used more then what I thought . Rodens offerings on this I didn't care much for so I opt for Eduards Lozenge and rib tapes .

On the left side of the fuselage there is a super glue run which I didn't notice until posting the pic's on Areoscale . This I will turn into some kind of oil fuel stain . Some weathering has been started on the fuselage but still wait's for the dull coat to continue . Any way this is where the project stands now .....

That is a ice looking Fokker. Is that a machine from Jagdgeschwader Nr.II?

Thanks jsontag !

The pilot of this machine is C . Alfred Greven and was a unit member of JG II , Jasta 12 . I don't have very much info on the pilot or unit so I really can't answer your question in fully detail .

You're very welcome. I thought it was a machine JG II. How is the kit? Do you recommend it?

Thanks Miguel !

Jsontag , the kit I used is Rodens early Fokker ( I like the shape of Rodens better ) It's a great kit to build . Built one last year and that can be see on Microscultps web site .

The one fit issues with the kit is the lower wing join to the fuselage which requires sanding and test fitting . This build isn't as bad as the last one . If you choose to have the engine cowls off very care alignment needs to be taken of the frame work it has to be right on or the top wing will not sit right throwing everything off kilter .

I would recommend the kit . It's a great one to do and some of the detail is represented better then the Eduard version .

Thank you, terri. I'm probably going to pick up that kit this weekend. I like the fact that it has decals for a couple of Jagdgeschwader Nr.II machines. I will build it with the engine cowls on. Have you built Roden's 1/32 Fokker D.VII?
