Peters innovative publishing of "Scale Model Aircraft in Plastic Card" to the internet has appeared as an article on kuro5hin.org, a tech site.

http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/9/7/15159/03181

Peter even got interviewed for it. You will also note some of the information from a couple of threads I started here appearing in the article as well.

I've read with awe most of Harry Woodman's work over the years.
The man should be designated a national treasure!

I am sad but not surprised to learn that he is unwell. He is well into his seventies by now. Unfortunately I have lost contact with him due to computer crashes and house moves etc. If you have any information you can communicate off to the side I should be grateful.

Thanks for the "new" link. The pages on cockpit designs and seats is especially interesting and useful. Who is Harry Woodman?

Who is Harry Woodman? Simply the finest fellow modeler in all the realm. All the bits n pieces we enjoy as photoetch were first envisioned by him. Noting of course Model Rail roaders did them first it was Harry that did the first set of WWI specific items. Scratchbuilding extrodinaire he originally designed the parts for his own use an then generously began to offer them for our enjoyment. I have shared the billing status in several magazine venues with his laying next to mine or just a few pages away. Now we have master builders. Wigman, Wictor and several others here in the USA. The European Continent has some really fine modelers. But Cream of the Crop, tip of the top is Harry Woodman and there I'll stop!

He is the Master. There are modelers his equal, the late great Tony Woollett for one, but two things set Harry Woodman apart; First his innovative and imaginative use of new materials and techniques, and second his prosletising zeal. He somehow finds time in the midst of it all to share his methods with the rest of us through his books and magazine articles.

I have not been in touch with the great man since about the time this thread was initiated, I don't think he even knows I finally got my transcript up and running, but he did not have a computer then and vowed he never would. So it's unlikely you will see any on line builds.
