@Erik
The cowling is from the F.1 Kit and have the step on it. When you will built an Dr.1 , buy the F.1 Kit - the right cowling is in the F.1-Box. The rivets are hand-made with a 0,3mm CNC-Drill.
@Armin
........only a brown pen. I used between the dark areas light-brown and orange-pen, but only a little bit.

@Kaiser Bill
Thank you very much, .... you will see the finished model?
By my "speed" to built the Fokker F.1 perhaps next year at the same time

No such luck! I already have the Dr.I in possession so I'll have to incorporate the step myself with putty or the like.
In any case; thanks for posting your builds here, this one and the E.V seriously inspire me!

Step in Dr.1-cowling
@One-Oh-Four
I mean the step in the Dr.1 model-cowling is not really a "must". The cowling on my Dr.1 model (Roden 1/32) is the Kit-Part only with handmade revits and panel-line.
The pictures of the cowling are from my Dr.1 "Fritz Kempf", I think it's so OK without the step.

Rotary-engine-factory
Hi, here are Pictures from three rotary-engines before and after a first washing with burnt-amber/thinner oilcolour-mix.
One engine goes to Voss' F.1, one to the E.V an the last to my future project, a Fokker V.4

Very interesting and practical way of painting the propeller with a crayon. I'll take your example to apply to my next propeller. Thanks for this great idea Bertl .
He's leaving a great job.

start with the cockpit
Hi, here comes Pictures from the backpaneel.
I removed the plastic and replaced it with a very thin (0,18mm) Gfk-plate.
You can read the name behind the gfk-plate
The small holes are made with an 0,20mm CNC-Drill.

Voß' face
Hi, here are two pictures from the 103/17-cowling.
It's freehand-painting with Tamiya XF2 flat-white, without masking
Believe me, after this job I can hold on my breath longer as a Pearldiver in the South-sea
