Roden F.1 1/32 "Werner Voss"

The third Modell in my Hangar is a Roden Fokker F1.103/17 "Werner Voss"

The Engine cowling with the "Öl-Lippe" and the larger Propellershaft hole
The early ailerons with bigger/longer balancer and the curved tailplane and Rudder.
I removed the plastic-"Kipphebel" and "Ventilfedern" from the Engine.

Rotary-Engine or "Umlaufmotor"

Hi, here are Makro's from the Engine for my 103/17.

..............what a stupid idea, for only one Cylinder i work 2-3 hours

The left Tailplain is for the F.1, you can see the differend Leading Edge to the Tailplain on the right from the Picture. The right Tailplain was original from the Roden F.1 Kit, i used it for my Avis E.V-Projekt.

Yes Beautiful Work, Worth each hour spent. 9 clyindars, 18 Valve Springs !

Yes Please Expain:

1. Materials ? Size & Diameter, length type wire,etc ?

2. Method ? You cut and relpaced rocker arm ? Wound your wire around what and cut it how and glued it with what ?

I have the Polish Part Frets for these Kits and they contain all those parts in PE only for the life of me I have not been able to imagine how to actually assemble them with any kind of adhesive which would hold them together without pooling up in great Gobs ?

Yours Mike

wake up a sleeping thread

Hi,

I start to paint the Axial-Prop from the Fokker 103/17 today (tonight in Germany at the moment).
I used a brown pen...........it's freehand painting. The basic-colour is Tamiya's XF-59 "desert yellow". The referenc-pictures of Voss are from the book
"Fokker Dr.I Triplane - A World War One Legend"
from Paul Leaman, ISBN 1-903223-28-8..............
............very rare and very expensive in Germany (60.-Euro)

The next, you see the F.1-cowling with the oil-lip. The cowling is the F.1 Roden-Kit-Part, the lip is a scratch-built-Part

Hello Bertl,

Looks very good!

Does the kit-cowling of the F.1 have the step and the rivets moulded in? Or did you have to modify the kit part? If so, how did you do it? The Dr.I cowling is completely smooth, so one has to build the step with the rivets self or use the Part photo-etch to do that.

Thanks!
Erik.

[edit]Looked at the first pics. Step is moulded in![/edit]
