Hello Gregory,
I'm a little bit lazy at time about the E.V.

I work on the 1/32 Voss F.1.................painting the cowling with Mr. Metalcolor No.:218, then olive from "Revell" and after this the "face" with white acrylic's.
And the wood-grain on the Albatros D.I tail-skid .................all so small things................

The weathering-effect on the upperside of the wing?
Hmm, in profil's -- Windsock etc. --, you can see this effect on the underside only. I think I don't touch the top-side.
My next job on the E.V is masking and painting the fuselage with Lozenge-colours.........better I used Doug's Decal-lozenge, but I have no Decalpaper.

Your AVIS -E.V/D.VIII is a good decision

Ok, 2 pictures for you

OK OK, Doug...............I will send you a Email, I used your Lozenge-decals

@mgtaylor
I can't find the missing wing-panel-line in the windsock-datafile, Mike
Take a look to the both pictures please, the panel-lines are the same as on the kit-wing.

Womenfly2,
Superb pics.
Am I right in thinking these are progress shots from Achim Engel's Razor?
Forgive my ignorance, but why don't we see Achim posting here on the aerodrome anymore? A sad loss to this forum IMHO.

Cheers,
Bob

They are pictures of Mr. Langdon's D.VIII wing being constructed by Mr. Koloman's shop, click on the link under the pictures for the full story.

Wish Mr. Langdon would post current pictures of his D.VIII here for us to drool over ..... nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Mr. Achim left this forum because of a hand-full of people who are a legend-in-their-own-mind. It was a very sad day for everyone when he stated he was leaving.

Anyway, Mr. Achim's fantastic work can be viewed here @ AeroCrafters

Great D.VIII model build! Love following it.
Cheers.

@womanfly2

Thank you for the pictures, womenfly2!!
I think the wing is for a D.VIII.
The wing-panel-lines on E.V and D.VII are the same?????

I would think so. The changes to the wing from E.V to D.VIII were internal, structural, spars cap depth, some strengthening here-an-there and improved quality control.

Cheers.

Dear Bertl

Yes the Panels are the same on the EV & DVIII. The wing as WFLy2 mentions was the same. After the premature Wing Failures due to quality control problems at eh factories namley internal gluing and varnishing where moisture had been allowed to get inside the wings and delaminated the glues causes the structural failures. After Grounding the Type the WIngs were replaced with more carefully built wings and internally stiffened, but to reassure pilots that the problem had been addressed and fixed they changed the aircrafts designation from Fokker E.V to Fokker D.VIII. SO pliots would dare get in one and fly them.

THe missing panel line as you can see from WFly2's photos Koloman Meyers accurate build would be from the inside edge of the Ailerons from the trailing edge to the leading edge panel chordwise.

Yours Mike

Glenn Torrance Models provides a wing panel layout for his D VIII/E.V kits. I thought I had it on my computer , but can't find it. Maybe someone else has it available.
