You can always buy them again. Get them now before the Christmas rush!

Can anyone confirm if the soon to be released 1/32 Wingnuts Fokker DVll is going to include the 185 hp BMW engine or the 180 hp Mercedes engine or both.

It's supposed to allow the modeller to build all versions, so I expect that these parts will be included. Hope so!

to me looking at theDVII pictures on page 6 i'd say yes. on the mercedes it usually has that little assembly coming out of the top/front. i dont know what it is/does but looking at those pictures a couple have the little thing sticking out and a couple dont so that tells me its two/both engines. I might be totally wrong but thats what it looks like to mebesides roden and eduard give both so why would WNW let them outdo em

I have also read that Wingnuts plans to release down the line a Rumpler C lV. Would a C lV be convertable into a C Vll if the Mercedes 260 hp D lV engine was swapped out for a 260 hp Maybach mb lV and a larger prop added or is other modifications needed to accomplish crafting a C Vll?

Access doors on the nose.

Hi Jefman:
The access doors on the nose of the V.II are different than those on the C.IV. It would require different fuselages for the C.IV and The C.VII. as well as the engine. I think I'll send them my C.IV, C.V, C.VI and C.VII drawings. Nothing gained, nothing lost.
There are a lot of differences in the C.IV series. The side lacing went through changes in location because of changes in the rear fuselage structure. They show up in different production orders. I spent a year of study for the drawings on the Rumpler C.IV to C.IX series. To the inexperience eye they could easily be mistaken one for the other.

Dan San: As always thank you for the quick and succinct response. I suspect that the Rumpler C lV if released by Wingnuts is going to be a tremendously popular kit. I alluded to the high altitude (24,000 ft. ceiling) C Vll with the Maybach as a possible variant but your analysis stresses the differences hence the kit could probably not be modified from a C lV to a C Vll with fuselage changes being too pronounced. I have also read that the C Vll had a bit larger wings. For the record I have also researched that the Maybach mb lV engine was closer to 237 hp rather than the commonly disclosed 260 hp size. However its revolutionary design (oversized cylinders, aluminum pistons, and an improved compression ratio plus it also had three different carburettor settings, each optimised for performance at different altitudes.) thus
allowed the engine to perform better at high altitude than the splendid 260 hp Mercedes. However, I'll buy the Rumpler in either form if Wingsnuts chooses to produce it.
