... Of course, I've bought the Eduard's 1/48 Hanriot HD1, that I plan to make with the markings of Willy Coppens...

Scimitar:
Very cool SSW D.IV. I wish my eyes would let me do 1/72 again. Even with my optivisor I'm not satisfied. You did a great job!

Scimitar:
If Willy had not been so controversial, He rubbed a lot of peoples feathers the wrong way. As a result he retired at the rabnk of Colonel.
He told me in a conversation, "you can not be elected to rule, You Are born to rule!" He was a Royalist, and believed very strongly in the Monarchy. As far as he was concerned , there were too many peasants in elected office. In another conversation, he asked me, "How can you Americans, elect a man like Kennedy?
He made many officials angry at him, and as a result he was never considered as Chief of the Belgian Air Force. Willy was very direct, and decisive, he did not tolerate B.S.
Bluer Skies,
Dan-San

Stephenlawson: thanks for your kind comments.

Dan San: in the Belgian system where hierarchy is a kind of "state-of-the-art" and where anciennity is preponderant, it would have been difficult for Willy Coppens to become the leader of our Aéronautique Militaire. But not impossible. But with his strong personality, yes, I think that was impossible... It's a fact he made so many people angry...
