Kenny...excellent work as always...looks like you'll make that Nov 14th deadline...no sweat. I see another first place in your future.
Kaiser Bill
Bill,
Thanks! But you know I learned a long time ago (Thanks to Tom Walsh) It's all for fun I can't judge them I can only build them and stick them on the table! Just participating is the most fun for me!
Is the top wing glued in place now ? If so you are lucky . I would have knocked it off by now a few times .
Thanks Bob & Terri,
Terri, the top wing is just sitting there with the struts popped into the location holes..............I think that Aeroclub jig made all the difference in the world....I may not even need it when I add the inter-plane struts? Everything seems to line up so nice right now....but you know how things change when you add glue!
You know , I have never used a jig before for doing that task .
Always just use my womanly touch , LOL . I'am sure down the line I will get one though . Rodens Felixstowe is in the stash and will need extra hands for that .
Home stretch is here.................a few photos of shiny 28 with decals in place.......tonight will be some more weathering and detail painting.....maybe tomorrow I can get another coat of Future sprayed to seal everything in place?
I've got an oil based wash down into the fine detail....while that dries I decided to address the propeller and hub.......I like the Roden molded on plastic hub detail better than the photo-etched ones I have (None of the Foto-cut stuff I have matches this style of Hub) and the PART version is just a bit shallow in detail for me???? The only problem with the Roden Hub is it is thick enough to pass for an armored cowl ring on a Focke-Wulf 190...which in my case is a good thing...I decided I'll just cut it off (I was going to remove it to paint the prop anyway) and thin it down......a few photos of the results and first coat of paint on the cleaned up hub and prop.....
Ken you're the only person I know that would go through such painstaking efforts to "accurize" a prop hub. Small wonder you kick everybody's butt at contests. Way to go!!
