A huge thank-you to all of you who replied to my plea! I greatly appreciate the advice and information. Also, a special thanks to James for the diagram and photo.

Cheers,
Eric

Got the tail done!

While not the most exciting thing to see, I am happy to say that I've made some good progress on applying the edge tapes to my LVG's flying surfaces.

The tail surfaces are done and I'm almost finished with the ailerons. While rather tedious work, I find it strangely relaxing, now that I know what I'm doing!

Thanks again to all who responded to my query with sound advice.

Cheers,
Eric

Looking good! Don't know enough about the LVG but it looks odd with lozenge on the engines but white (unbleached linen) tapes on the ribs. I know on the Fokker the ribs are matching fabric to the outlines, but you probably know more than me about the LVG and are correct due to photos showing it that way.
take care,
Dave

More Flight Archive Material on LVG C.V and C.VI

Flight has lots of contemporary reports with pictures and diagrams made during and shortly after the war. You can search the archives by keyword and date etc.

Here is the first pages of four pages on the LVG C.V and C.VI biplanes:
