Thanks Brad,

I haven't used my airbrush yet (despite buying it about three weeks ago, and buying a compressor last week), and I guess from here on, it's all just trial and error.

Let's hope that Pascoe's works well...I bought a litre.

If you google for swannys models this site includes a section called the complete future. This is a fairly complete guide to Future/Klear and how to use it. It also runs through all the different names of the product around the world.

Sorry but it seems I'm not allowed to add the link. Hope this is of some use.

Nick,

An excellent article! Thank you for drawing our attention to its existance. Here is the link for anyone interested in Future, its equivalent products all around the world, its many uses and tips and hints on using it...

Hi Olve - The highlights and shadows were done using a simple 6 step process:

1. Paint the whole surface the colour that you want the rib tapes to be,
2. Mask over the rib tapes,
3. Spray the colour you want the wing surface to be (masks still on the rib tapes)
4. Lighten the wing colour slightly, then spray highlights between the ribs (again, masks still on the rib tapes)
5. Remove the rib tape masking
6. Overspray along the rib and control joins with some thinned Tamiya smoke

That’s all there is to it – it is a little intensive but I have found that doing it this way is another alternative to pre shading prior to painting the main coats .

On the inspection ports on the wings and stabilizer, did you drill these out and add the pulley?
