Sightreader.
In response to what I feel was a very sarcastic response to my seat post.
Definately yes, it was a great achievement (of sorts) to accomplish what I did, this type of thing might be easy for you but to many of us it is a real challenge and when done a real sense of satisfaction is felt. It is by no means perfect but with my limited modelling skills I am proud of it.
Yes it is only plastic, but that is the medium that we "plastic" modellers work in, whats the big deal?
I'm not saying that making a wicker seat is difficult, to someone like you it is probably a piece of cake, but to many it is a very difficult task. This is only my second wicker seat and I have learnt a lot by looking at the techniques used by fellow modellers, so by me posting my photos I hope that in some small way it may help those who are having problems. I am not perfect, no one is, but I am very proud of what I have done and I like showing my work to others. For the very short time that I have been modelling I, in my mind, believe I have produced some pretty good looking models.
I love and accept critisism with open arms whether it be good or bad but I do not, and will not, accept sarcasm.
It's comments like yours that makes me wonder, why do I bother?
Des.

Please keep bothering, if only to imagine our faces admiring your work

Des,
Before we all (and I do mean all!! me included) jump down his throat. I searched his posts and found, at least his recent ones, that 1) he appears to be a "gamer" not a modeler and 2) his response with CGI reference might be coming from a "game" background, not someone with that physically builds models.
Benefit of the doubt would be that it was an honest question simply from lack of knowledge on his part to the extremley high skill (envy on my part) required to produce that seat!
We'll see.

OK, my offer of "the benefit of the doubt" was premature. Maybe a gamer but also a button-pusher as well. It's a forum for models. D'oh.
What was the old Lincoln quote?

Great looking seat Des... I wish I had skill like that! I am only just returning to the hobby after every long break.

You mean we've all been talking about plastic models here? Who woulda guessed it?
Amazing seat and faux wood Des. I hope to make a seat as perfect as yours someday!
