Hi Tomas, I forgot which D VII kit/ plan you are building, but in any case, it is extremely important not to let the tail get too heavy. The nose is so darn short, especially if you are building the front at more or less scale length, that just a few ounces at the tail equals a pound at the nose.
I had to add 4 lbs to the front of the firewall to get it to balance. That brought up the total weight to 22 lbs. My "stock" BUSA D VIII weighs 15.5 and flys nicely, but still more like a WW II bird.
I must also say that the G26 was not running at full song on the maiden flight. It probably would have made it if the engine was at peak, however, it would have been iffy. I think it will fly at 20 lbs max. That is my plan to cut the tail weight so I can cut nose weight and get the whole thiong under 20 lbs.
I also added about 3/32" washout under the wing tips. Even though it rolled over when it went in, it did not snap. I think the washout helped.
