another newbie rigging question

My first biplane is infuriatingly close to completion. I'm learning a lot about what I Should Have Done Earlier. The wings went on pretty well with only a slight deviation and right now I'm rigging and I'm kicking myself for forgetting to buy a drillbit smaller than a 70 and not drilling pilot holes for the rigging.

I can muddle through, I think, on most of it, but the part that is driving me insane is the rigging between the fuselage struts (not sure what it's called. The "X" with the wooden thing at the center that's just above the guns).

I can't just make a straight "X", as the position of the guns demands a more acute angle on the lower lines. I've made a module with stretched sprue glued to a plastic rod 'wooden thing' but installing it makes aligning the wings seem easy.

Anybody got any recommendations? Easy ones ?

Thanks!

Are you referring to the cross wires at the front cabane (top of fuselage to wing) struts? One way to do it is to make two loops and cross them. Make a wide "U" shaped loop from the top of the left strut to the top of the right strut while at the same time make an upside down "U" from the bottom of the left strut to the bottom of the right strut crossing through the top loop. Glue one side only (left or right as you wish) and let the glue set. Then pull both loops tight and watch the X shape form. You can move the crossover point to wherever you want it by adjusting the length and tension of both loops, then glue the free ends.

Akronbey: what model are you building?? If its a Camel, I think I know your problem. If you are referring to the "X" in the front of the cabane struts over the guns...try making two "V" shaped pieces and glue them together. It worked for me. HTH
