Jasta 11 question

Hello.

At the moment I´m building two 1:32 Jasta 11 Albatros D.iii for an airfield diorama.

I want to add a third plane to the scene but it has to be contemporary to the two albatros and has to be from Jasta 11 (and also 1:32).

I thought of adding a Fokker Dr.1 or F1. Something like the one first of the Dr.1 received at Jasta 11 and so there would still be D.iii´s on the airfield.

If that is possible, is there a kit with possible markings for this Dr.1? Can the Hobbycraft Dr.1 "late aces" be used?

if not

Would the Fokker F.1 102/17(w/n 1729) Jasta 11, Ob.lt. Kurt Wolff (sept 1917) be a good choice?

Best regards

Marco

I am afraid that the F1 and pfalz are out if you want to be Historically accurate. depending on what configuration/schemes you have chosen for your DIIIs the following would be your Jasta 11 choices.
1. If you used the early centrally mounted radiator you could do a DIII with the offset version.
2. If you used the offset radiator then an early DV would work. I hope this helps,
RAGIII

PS. A third option would be a visiting aircraft such as an Albatros DII from another Jasta.

If I'm not mistaken , the first D.Vs were arriving in May '17, so the D.IIIs would be leaving at around that time. The F.1 showed up in September, and the first Dr.1s in October. And the D.Va started showing up in November.

So, a Halberstadt D.II/D.III, or the 2 different D.III versions, or an early D.V would be the best single-seat choices, I think.

Hi Fir..............I was basing my suggestion on the photo of Jasta 18 that had Von Raben's Dr.I in the mix with a few D.V's and .....seeing the WEEKEND EDITION of the EDUARD Pfalz in 18's markings.............hey, I think I'll save that idea for myself

There are plenty of contemporary photographs of captured RFC / RNAS alongside German fighters. What about a Sopwith Pup or the soon to be released Sopwith Tripe, just to be different? If it's got to be German though I'd plump for either an early D.V (WNW) or a late Alb D.II (Encore).

Have you thought about a car i.e., MvR's runaround? There was a 1/32 1913 Mercedes made by Revell in the early 60's under the Highway Pioneers label or something. You could even try converting the old Airfix 1910 B-Type British Bus to a suitable truck.

Thinking about it this would be one big diorama ?

You read my mind! Got that 1913 Mercedes about two weeks ago on Ebay. Just waiting for it to arrive.

I hadn´t thought of the idea of a captured aircraft. Do you know where I can find these photos?

The Albatros D.ii is available only by Encore. Right?

The Encore kit is the Roden kit of the D.II
The only difference between the two kit's is ..Encone comes with resin parts and Eduards PE setand a cast fig of Oswald Boelcke while the Roden kit is just the plastic .
